Recruitment

Howdy and Welcome to Aggieland! On behalf of the women of Delta Zeta, congratulations on being accepted to A&M and choosing to attend a truly great university. Making the decision to participate in Sorority Recruitment is exciting and will prove to be a remarkable life-changing choice!

Delta Zeta was established as the first sorority here at A&M in 1974. Since then, Aggie Delta Zetas have been active in all areas of college life. DZs are incredibly active on campus and take great pride in participating in other organizations philanthropy events, as well as community events. In addition to staying involved on campus, Delta Zetas take pride in academics and maintain high grades. The bonds of sisterhood and friendship formed in Delta Zeta are truly amazing and we look forward to sharing them with you!

You may choose to submit a letter of recommendation from alumnae. These letters should be sent directly to the house in c/o Recruitment Chair at 1501 Olympia Way, College Station, TX 77840. New Member Program

New Members are the lifeline to the Delta Zeta Sorority. From over 1,000 women who participate in New Member Recruitment at Texas A&M University each year, over 50 will be chosen to represent the Lambda Xi Chapter of Delta Zeta as New Members. These women exemplify the high standards the women of Lambda Xi hold fast to. The ladies of Delta Zeta adhere to a strict anti-hazing policy.

New Members of Delta Zeta participate in our nationally recognized ten week New Member Education Program. This program gives each member a foundation for her beginning involvement as a sister in Delta Zeta and forms friendships and bonds between the pledge class and current sisters.

The information needed to become a dedicated and contributing lifelong member of the Delta Zeta Sorority will be shared with each New Member through this program. These ladies will be oriented to the history of the sorority and our chapter; as well as Delta Zeta values and principles. During this time, New Members begin to establish bonds of lasting friendship and sisterhood as they become a functional member of the chapter.

It is expected that the New Member Education Program be a positive and motivational learning experience for each New Member, paving the way for understanding of the ritual and appreciation of the benefits of membership. New Members of DZ will also have the chance to experience fun activities such as a New Member Retreat, mixers with other campus organizations, and weekly sisterhood outings.

If you have any questions about Delta Zeta's New Members or New Member Program, please feel free to contact our New Member Educator, Amy Horton, at dz.educator@yahoo.com.
